In a nutshell, group training classes are designed for general obedience training and are not tailored to your individual needs. Private home training and/or private lessons cover more than just obedience training; they include behavioral training for anxiety, fear, reactivity, arousal, and aggression, and are fully customized to your requirements. It’s akin to the difference between a fitness class and a session with a personal trainer!

Some dogs also struggle in group class settings around other dogs or people. Group classes are not suitable for reactive, highly anxious, or aroused dogs who cannot manage the presence of other dogs and people. Private training offers individual support and a step-by-step approach to help build coping skills safely before attempting a group class.
