Last Friday, Basil, a 1-year-old Miniature Schnauzer, came in for a private lesson to work on his reactivity toward people and dogs. On walks, he tends to bark loudly, lunge, and pull on his lead whenever he spots someone or another dog. During our one-hour session, we focused on teaching Basil to walk calmly on a loose lead by his owner’s side. His owner practiced how to correct him when he began to fixate and when to reward him for ignoring people and dogs.
Basil proved to be a quick learner, and his owner shared that she felt much more confident after our session!
